Operating Force
The keyboard harmonica is a classic instrument used in music classes and school performances in kindergartens and elementary schools in Japan. Children in kindergarten and the lower grades of elementary school often have weak finger strength, and some may not be able to produce sound even when pressing the keys of a piano. Therefore, compared to the piano, the keyboard harmonica requires less force to press the keys and produces sound with a lighter touch. This ease of pressing the keys is an important point.
What is being introduced here is a test that measures the maximum load required to press the keys and manages the operational quality (ease of pressing) of the keyboard. In the video, a key displacement of 5mm is set, and the load values required to depress three keys by 5mm each are measured. The maximum load values for each key are then statistically analyzed and graphed to determine if they fall within the specified criteria. The graph is drawn at a speed of 2000 data points per second, allowing for accurate measurement of momentary changes in load and obtaining the maximum load values precisely. The measuring device used in the video detects the point of contact with the key and can automatically perform the entire measurement process, from pushing the key 5mm to returning to the starting position. This ensures the reproducibility of the test and allows for highly efficient measurements.
